We had a fantastic crew running the boat, our skipper Richard was very charming and professional in his management of the boat, while his first mate and out tour guide Stephanie showed us magical time snorkelling around the reef.

While the trip across to Low Isles was choppy the boat glided through the waters with ease, riding up on the bow is an experience that you have to try.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, thank you.

We were lucky enough to be visiting Port Douglas when the tourist season wasn’t in full swing, so we only had 13 people on our boat. We also had simply stunning weather which was a bonus. Sailing from Port to the Low Isles was simply magical reflecting back on the Daintree rainforest. We are not huge “boat” people and we aren’t really big snorkelers so we were slightly nervous about the whole thing, but the staff were so lovely and so helpful they put us at ease immediately. so much so that we went on the “adventurous” snorkeling trip after we arrived at the iles. It was just stunning, we saw turtles and clown fish and the staff were very helpful in advising us to grab a noodle – which was super helpful! We took a walk around the Island and then hopped back on the boat home. The sunset was unbelievable. The canapes were great and the drinks were well priced ($6, plus one complimentary.) We would definitely do this again and wanted to go back and do it all over again the next day! A good trip for people who aren’t desperate to do heaps of snorkeling (although we still saw lots of amazing things) but for people who just want a half day and to take in the whole great barrier reef tropical north Queensland experience. The length of the trip suited us perfectly, not too short, but not too long that you were exhausted by the end. Loved every moment!

Booked ourselves onto the first sailing of Sailaway 5, a new catamaran for the company and a new trip which leaves at 1pm out to Low Isles and returns around 6.30 for the sunset. The crew were really great and friendly and laid on a buffet lunch as we set sail. The boat seemed to handle the 26 knots with ease! At Low Isles there was a choice of snorkelling, with everything provided including stinger suits, or a glass bottom boat trip. The girls took the snorkelers in two groups from the beach, with one group for the less experienced which was a great idea. On our return the crew served up canapes and drinks as we watched the sunset develop near Port Douglas harbour. Highly recommended, well done to the crew.

For $50 each with a complimentary high quality beer, Corona or wine with canapés this is a must, it might only last 1.5 hours but the views you get are worth it. Plus you can buy more drinks for $6 each, I don’t know eyer you can buy a Corona for that much anywhere. The staff were awesome and we got to meet some very nice people from all over the world. As a first time on a sailing vessel we enjoyed it very much, even the seaspray in our faces.
